Objective of Symposium

The 9^th China-Japan Bilateral Symposium on High Temperature Strength of Materials will be held at Changsha, China, during the period of October 16-20, 2016. The symposium series was initiated by the High Temperature Strength and Materials Committee, the Society of Materials, Chinese Mechanical Engineering Society and the Committee on High Temperature Strength of Materials, the Society of Materials Science Japan. This Symposium is a sequel to the successful meetings of the 1^st China-Japan Bilateral Symposium held in Luoyang, China, 1992; the 2^nd bilateral Symposium held in Nagaoka, Japan, 1995; the 3^rd held in Nanjing, China, 1998; 4^th in Tsukuba, Japan, 2001; 5^th held in Xi’an, China, 2004; 6^th in Sendai, Japan, 2007; 7^th held in Dalian, China, 2010 and 8^th held in Asahikawa, Japan, 2013. The purpose is intended to promote academic and technical exchange between Chinese and Japanese scientists, engineers and to strengthen the technical contacts in the field of high temperature strength of materials between the two nearby countries. The main theme of this symposium includes: High Temperature Deformation and Fracture Mechanisms, Deformation and Fracture of Advanced High Temperature Materials, High Temperature Strength of Electronic Materials, Experimentation at High Temperature Creep and Fatigue Interaction, Defect Assessment and Life Prediction of High Temperature Materials and Components, Small Sample Test Technique, etc.

The organizer invites offers of papers on topics which contribute towards providing improvements in the understanding of the high temperature strength of materials and structures. A non-exclusive listing of relevant topics includes:

Call for Papers & Abstract

Abstracts within 300 words should be submitted by the deadline, through e-mail to chenjian9thcjbs@126.com or yaguchi@criepi.denken.or.jp. The abstract should also contain the title of the paper, author’s names and affiliations. Contact details of the corresponding author including address, e-mail and telephone should be provided.

Milestone Date

Abstract Deadline: May 31, 2016

Acceptance of Abstract: June 30, 2016

Manuscripts Deadline: August 31, 2016

The official language is English and authors are kindly requested to submit their papers in English. Some papers presented in the 9th symposium will be recommended to be published at the journal of Acta Metallurgica Sinica by peer-review process.

Registration and Accommodation

The registration fee will be 4,000 RMB or 60,000 JPY. Students and accompanying persons are welcome with a reduced registration fee of 2,000 RMB or 30,000 JPY. The registration fee covers admission to all technical sessions, lunch and two refreshment-breaks each day of the conference, banquet, conference dinners, excursion and a copy of the conference proceedings, but not accommodation.

Awards

Best Paper Awards will set up for young authors presented at the symposium. Outstanding Contribution Awards for the senior colleagues who made a particular contribution to the symposium. Meritorious Awards will be awarded to the previous predecessors for their outstanding contributions.
